maybe i was looking to reinforce my decision to not watch new moon(it'll be like throwing money and time down the drain), because the trailer actually looked halfway interesting, (if you ignore the non-existence acting that is) and it worked perfectly, less than 5mins into twilight and i remembered why i thought the whole thing was a big waste of time.

i am rereading the books though, its a little ridiculous and totally sappy+shallow but its a nice fantasy when you're just picturing it in your head and not looking at real people actually trying(and failing. miserably.) to bring the story to life. and it helps pass the time. but i couldn't help skipping towards the end though, it was getting too boring...now i'm off to skip through most of book 2! =D

went out for dinner today, had yummy fish head curry and fried chicken and veggies.

thats basically it. my days are really boring now, and guess what? i'm throughly enjoying it XD

but its better than those dreams where i keep trying to wake up but just can't. its a really peculiar feeling, i can feel my body lying on the bed still, could almost see my blanket covering my face, but i was walking around doing stuff all the while in my dream trying to figure out if i'm really dreaming or have i finally succeeded in waking up. and when i decided that i am dreaming, i would try to wake up again and again but i'll keep waking up to different dreams, and it'll keep repeating again and again until i get so confused i'm not really sure that i'm awake when i actually do really wake up o.o

anyway, went shopping with sis today, bought some stuff, got caught in the rain and had prata for lunch!

at 157mins i was a little worried about getting bored halfway, but it actually didn't feel all that long. only disappointing thing is that i thought the ending was pretty anti-climatic, and after all the rousing speeches about humanity, giving everyone equal chances to survive blahblahblah in the end its still only the super rich who got saved =.=''' thought we would forget in all the excitement huh? even though we're an easily distracted generation, it really isn't too hard to remember that everyone there is only there because they paid an obscene amount of money for a ticket, even if not all of them actually got what they paid for =.=

but anyway, its an okay movie, with enough excitement and big special effects to please everyone. i don't think people really go to this kind of movie for the clever plot anyway lol its enjoyable enough and does actually provoke some thoughts about what might be coming in the not so far away future.

by the way, saw the trailer for avatar while watching 2012 yesterday. i wasn't very interested in this movie at first coz i've heard hardly anything about it other than the special effects and all. and honestly the name just makes me think of video games and video game movies usually suck lol but the trailer actually looks pretty interesting

it tells the story of Susie Salmon, a 14year old girl who is murdered by her neighbour and then watches down from heaven as her family cope with her death. i don't think i've read a book whereby the main character/narrator is dead before i get through the first chapter lol

its quite a touching book, weepy, i couldn't get through it in one sitting coz i kept crying -sigh- but i guess the ending does have some closure. i thought it was very well written, the words feels very emotionally charged, some passages really gave me chills. conclusion: quite a good read, recommended♥

headed over to mof for desserts and an impromptu catch up session. it was pleasant i suppose, chit chat about random stuff and everything.

had a mini movie marathon yesterday since there's really nothing much to do when i'm basically just rotting at home the whole day lol decided to catch up on the movies i missed recently.

both movies were entertaining enough, but not really impressive. but i guess i kind of expected that, i thought the trailer for surrogates looked good, but i've heard it wasn't really very good lol so yea its ok enough if you don't think too much about the plot. it was pretty cool how they made all the actors look so young and "plasticky-perfect" looking in their surrogate forms haha

jennifer's body, well, i never had very high expectations for it. i mean its obviously targeted at teenagers and probably ridiculously not scary since megan fox is the "monster". but i thought it would be fun to watch lol and yea it was pretty funny at times, entertaining enough as weekend popcorn fare, but quite forgettable. the soundtrack is pretty good though i think.

next on my list are moon and pandorum. and then i'll probably start working through all the movies i collected over time but never got around to watching =X heehee

or maybe i'll just rewatch true blood since i already reread the books(yes all 9 of them. and all the short stories in between too) XD i'm so totally addicted, i wish the next book would just come out like now instead of next may =(

we got back to tamp just in time for Coraline 3D =D i know i watched it months ago, but it was so good i had to see how it looks in 3D XD

i'm still not very impressed with the 3D effects, sure some of it looked pretty cool, like when the other world was unwinding and flaking off but honestly the animation already looks pretty good on a normal screen. i just don't really understand the recent influx of all things 3D, seems to me its just a gimmick to make people pay more for something they don't really need -shrugs-

but special effects aside, it really is a great movie =D totally worth the second viewing even if 3D tickets are ridiculously expensive. i thought it would be pretty embarrassing if the others thought the movie was not all that impressive considering i was making such a big fuss gushing all over it and trying my damnest to raise the expectations of everyone the first time i watched it lol but really, i fell in love all over again after watching it a second time. its definitely one of my favourite animated movies of all time♥

i'm currently rereading the book to refresh my memory of how the original story went without the extra characters written for the movie. the book actually has quite a different feel to it compared to the movie, it was less funny, more creepy but just as interesting =D the movie really is a great adaptation, changing the little details to make it look good on screen but still keeping the story true. its a good example of something makes me appreciate the changes required to do a book to movie adaptation and i usually hate the changes made from the transition from paper to film but here i can see how it was necessary to make it work in a different media.

the weather has been really really rainy the last couple of days(or weeks actually). i actually am enjoying the cold, the cold air always smells especially fresh after a shower but i'm wishing it wasn't quite so wet all the time so that i can actually open the window to enjoy some of the fresh air outside =/

but no matter, the absence of sun glares and just the generally cooler temperature is just as enjoyable. i'm wishing that the rainy season would last longer even if somedays my nose feels like it wants to migrate off my face. i've never been a big fan of the unbearably sunny tropical weather, and i absolutely hate the humidity and heat, even my skin protests by breaking out in rashes when i sweat. i really am living in the wrong place aren't i? -shakes head-

as pretty as my LG Secret is, the lagging and horrendous reception is really starting to get on my nerves =S sigh, hopefully the prettiness can help me last till my contract ends =(

had a quick lunch at ljs, and i'm reminded of exactly why i really really dislike ljs. its expensive and the food is blah and the plastic utensils seriously sucks XP nope never going back there

headed over to toa payoh next to view the showflat of sis's new house! everyone around me seems to be getting married left and right, makes me feel lonely =( oh well, at least soon i'll have the whole house all to myself muahahahahaha!

had dinner at mellben(i think thats how its spelt?), i think its some famous crab place, and it was super yummy! -drools- i'm not much of a crab eater, but the beehoon & crab soup was, -drowns in pool of drool-, you get the picture XD so now i'm feeling mighty full and i smell like crab lol

but there is a multistory car park beside my house and the house looks about right(though the pool was much bigger) so i guess my dream is kind of based on real life(at least a teeny bit?) after all?

what strange dreams i have...

oh and even in my dreams i was thinking about needing a haircut XD so i guess i really need one haha
